The Burnham on Crouch Allotments consists of 257 plots to the rear of Arcadia Road.

The Town Council has been in possession of the allotments since the 1920s.

However it recently emerged that the allotments were transferred to Moat Housing after Maldon District Council took over properties owned by Burnham on Crouch Urban District Council in 1974.

The Town Council is now talking to Moat Housing in an effort to find a solution.

Burnham Allotment & Garden Holders’ Association

The day-to-day administration of the plots is carried out by Burnham on Crouch Allotments and Garden Holders Association who have a small building near the entrance to the allotments.

10 rod and 5 rod plots in the allotments are available to hire by residents.

The concerns of the Association are represented on the Town Council by Councillor Peter Elliott and Councillor Ron Pratt.
