Saint Mary’s, or St Mary the Virgin, is on Church Road, the one running north out of Burnham and heading towards Southminster.

With parts of the building over 800 years old, evidence suggests that there was a church on this site in 1155.

The font is the oldest part of the visible existing church, which survives from the 12th century.
